Samhain, Honouring our Ancestors

Samhain, Honouring our Ancestors

At this time, we are invited to remember and honour our ancestors. The Celtic festival between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice has been known as a time when the veil between ordinary reality and non- ordinary reality is at its thinnest. It is a potent time to begin to adjust from the autumn energies as we move into the winter months, turning inward, connecting to your inner visions and welcoming deep rest.

This day will include gentle movement, meditation in nature, a ritual for honouring the ancestors and healing. There will also be time for authentic sharing and yoga nidra (yogic deep relaxation).

Please bring lunch to share, teas and snacks will be provided.

Sliding scale depending on financial abundance- £40 - £70

Sacred Feminine Retreat

Sacred Feminine Retreat

This four-day retreat, for women of all ages, offers a rare gift to share deeply with each other and connect to the sacred feminine within, allowing more wholeness and balance to arise in our lives individually and collectively.

The retreat will include daily hatha yoga classes, meditation, chanting, karma yoga (selfless service), yoga nidra (deep relaxation), havan (sacred fire), kirtan, intuitive dance, creative expression and sharing circles to support authenticity and going deeper together.

As we allow ourselves to disentangle from the many expectations and assumptions we encounter as women, we can step more into our authentic being, creating space for increased joy and freedom in our lives.

Our time together will explore the phases of woman: maiden, mother, matriarch and crone and the transitions through each.  We will also share a map to support navigating the menstrual cycle. By bringing a deeper understanding to the menstrual or moon cycle, we can empower ourselves with the wisdom to navigate through our internal seasons consciously. Through simple, yet profound, practices we will awaken, reconnect or deepen our connection to our womb space (the space where the womb is or once was). The womb is considered to be our innate source of wisdom and power and the sacred vessel of creativity and life.

Guided by Reva and AnandaDevi, this retreat will draw upon their many years of experience of holding space for women and their own journey. It is suitable for all women, including those who have had a hysterectomy and who are post-menopausal.

Connect to the Sacred Feminine Within.

Yoga and the Menopause (Day 2)

This online retreat offers women who define themselves as being in the phase of menopause (including preparation for menopause, peri menopause and menopause) a space to honour this profound transition in life.

This first day of two will offer different practices to support this life phase including gentle asanas, meditation, yoga nidra and a sharing circle with an emphasis on exploring the conditioned messages that we have received personally and collectively and welcoming different perspectives and embracing new attitudes, including awareness of both the gifts and the challenges of the different the phases within menopause. As we practice conscious menopause we are more able to embrace the opportunities that arise from this profound transition.

Society seldom recognizes or honours this life stage as a rite of passage for women. As such women have little support, and even understanding, to navigate the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual changes that occur to their body, relationships and sense of self during this time. As with the menstrual cycle, bringing increased awareness and understanding to this natural process offers us a map which allows us to navigate this profound life phase more easefully and skilfully.

Although each women’s journey is unique the retreat will offer a deeper understanding of some of the physical and emotional experiences that can be part of the menopause landscape, along with practices to help manage some of these.

Drawing from her own depth of experience, Reva will offer insights into the menopause supported by an interweaving of yoga practices including gentle asana, meditation, chanting, mantra and yoga nidra. In addition, there will also be spaces set aside for authentic sharing, exploration and contemplation.

This course will run over two separate days, and while you are encouraged to book for both to gain the full benefit of the course, you can book for just day one or day two if you wish. The two days will offer deep rest, support, spaciousness and nourishment.

The second day will bring a focus on exploring some of the emotional, physical and energetic changes and symptoms that can be experienced during menopause from a holistic perspective including specific yoga, tantric and ayurvedic practices.

Hosted by Mandala Yoga Ashram. Booking through the Ashram’s website.
